Get In Touch

Day 9 - Correcting with Truth and Grace

Guiding Principle: Jesus confronted error lovingly, aiming at restoration

Scriptures

Matthew 16:23

But he turned and said to Peter, Get behind me, Satan! You are a hindrance to me. For you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of man.

John 8:10–11

Jesus stood up and said to her, Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? She said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said, Neither do I condemn you; go, and from now on sin no more.

Revelation 3:19

Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.

Prayer

  • Jesus corrected His disciples firmly to realign them with God’s purposes. Pray that ICA members will receive and respond to correction with humility, allowing truth to reshape their thinking, attitudes, and alignment with the will of God.
  • Jesus confronted sin without condemnation and extended grace that led to transformation. Pray that ICA members will learn to correct one another with compassion, truth, and love, always aiming at repentance, restoration, and spiritual growth.
  • Correction is an expression of Christ’s love and commitment to our maturity. Pray that ICA members will not resist godly reproof but will embrace it as an essential part of the discipleship process that leads to holiness and transformation.
  • Christ demonstrated perfect balance between truth and grace in His dealings with people. Pray for ICA pastors, leaders, and all members as disciplers to exercise wisdom, discernment, and love when correcting others, ensuring that truth is spoken in love and received in grace.
  • Discipleship modelled after Christ leads to restoration and not rejection. Pray that ICA Church will cultivate a culture where loving correction is welcomed, accountability is embraced, and ICA members are continually formed into Christlikeness.

Declaration:

  • We declare that we at ICA will endeavour to fill our lives with Truth and Grace so that we will confront error lovingly.
  • We declare that every correction we do this year will lead to full restoration of people.
