Get In Touch

Day 8 - Servant Leadership

WEEK TWO FOCUS: THE PROCESS OF DISCIPLESHIP

At ICA, we are called not only to win souls but also to disciple believers. As we intentionally disciple others, we ourselves continue to be discipled, growing in Christlikeness and participating in the ongoing process of transformation as believers.

Guiding Principle: Jesus discipled by serving, thereby redefining greatness.

Scriptures

Mark 10:42–45

And Jesus called them to him and said to them, ‘You know that those who are considered rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

John 13:3–5

Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

Philippians 2:5–7

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.”

Prayer

  • Christ humbled Himself and took the form of a servant, setting the pattern for all disciples. Pray that ICA members will fully embrace the mind of Christ by laying aside pride, self-interest, and the pursuit of status, and by walking in humility and obedience as foundational to true discipleship.
  • Jesus taught that greatness in His Kingdom is defined by service and not authority. Pray for a renewed understanding of leadership within ICA Church. Pray that discipleship will be shaped by Christ’s teaching and not by worldly models of power, control, or recognition.
  • Jesus as our example willingly served His disciples in practical ways. Pray that ICA members will develop servant hearts that joyfully engage in humble, sacrificial, and often unseen acts of service as an essential expression of Christlike discipleship.
  • Christ leads gently and by example, drawing others through His character and love. Pray for ICA pastors, leaders, and every member as a discipler to consistently model servant leadership in attitude and action, so that those being discipled clearly see Christ reflected in their lives.
  • Christ Himself is the model and goal of all discipleship. Pray that ICA Church will intentionally cultivate a discipleship culture rooted in servanthood, where ICA members are formed through example, relationship, and service, resulting in genuine transformation in alignment with God’s purpose for the year.

Declaration:

  • We declare that the mind of Christ shall be cultivated by all ICA members and that servant leadership shall become our identity.
