Implementing Visions Part II. Speak Back
Anchor scripture: Nehemiah 2:1-20, emphasis 19-20. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Nehemiah 2:19-20 (ESV) - But when Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite servant and Geshem the Arab heard of it, they jeered at us and despised us and said, “What is this thing that you are doing? Are you rebelling against the king?” 20 Then I replied to them, “The God of heaven will make us prosper, and we his servants will arise and build, but you have no portion or right or claim in Jerusalem.”
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 (ESV) - 3 For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 5 We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.
1. Thank God for giving us the revelation and understanding that every God given dream meets resistance from the enemy, hence we should not be perplexed.
2. Pray that as Christians, we should develop the habit of speaking back to the enemy, knowing that our God will make us prosper – Neh 2:20.
3. Pray that we will fight the enemy within us (negative thoughts – 2 Cor 10:3-5) and declare who God is to us – Neh 2:20.
4. Pray that our prayers will focus on affirming who we are in God - Neh 2:20.
5. Pray that as we speak back, we will quote God’s word, “it is written,” for the enemy has no portion in God’s work – Neh 2:20.
